Injuries: If a player plays a full NFL season his risk of injury should be capped to a predetermined number of games - I believe strato has a chart for this. Also, if a player only plays in half of his teams games in the previous NFL season he should not be available for all 16 games in OFM.
Overusage: we have QB’s who didn’t even start a game in the NFL playing a full season in OFM, HB’s getting 2-3x the number of carries they actually had in the NFL
Restrict players to their longest run/reception: Larry Fitzgerald’s longest reception in the 2016 NFL season was 32yds. He exceeded that 7 times for the Vikings. UNREALISTIC
QB end run limits - it’s time to either do away with this play or limit it.
Announcing “Personel” rather than offensive formation. Unfair advantage
Trade Approval: perhaps a trade review committee, or at the very least - do not let the teams involved in the trade have the right to Approve the trade.

Other than the longest run/reception, i'm in agreement with this idea.
I understand that item #2 sometimes occurs due to player shortages on a roster, but that seems to be in the minority now and the days of just pure card abuse should be looked at much more closely.

FS - per Strat rules the FS can only cover in man to man the #3(slot WR),HB, FB & BB. Our current (house rules) allow him to cover the FL and/or SE in a 3 WR set. FS is allowed to 2TM any receiver, but you can’t reassign him to have a higher rated defender on the offenses FL or SE.

FS is allowed to 2TM any receiver, but you can’t reassign him to have a higher rated defender on the offenses FL or SE. I do not believe this to be true. The rule states that the starter is replaced with a "defensive back." I believe that defensive back refers generically to all secondary players: CB/SS/FS/DB and not just a player labeled "defensive back" on the team card. If the defense brings in another FS to play FS; the original FS can be the "nickel." Moreover, I have seen some leagues that prohibit moving your starting FL/SE to 3rd wide in order to be covered by the weakest defender (nickel). Our rule actually prevents offensive coaches from "gaming the game." If there is some other written rule that I am overlooking, please point it out. An example of the rule is below: 3-3-5 NICKEL DEFENSE Starting with a 3-4 defense, replace one of the inside linebackers with a defensive back. Place additional defensive back in short or long pass zone. When utilizing this alignment, the defensive coach may call a pass or run defense. The fifth defensive back will be responsible for any wide receiver not covered by a defender. This can be used by a team that normally plays a 4-man line (see adjustments above). Important note: If you want to call “Run” from a 3-3-5 formation you must position the FS on the line of scrimmage.

Refer to the Defensive/Offensive formation chart in the Strat rules. Current “house rules” allow for this to happen.

Refer to the Defensive/Offensive formation chart in the Strat rules. Current “house rules” allow for this to happen. I just ran a computer simulation. With the Pittsburgh Steelers -- I made a global change to the defense. I made Justin Gilbert 00 the FS (removing Mike Mitchell 54). In a game against the Minnesota Vikings, the Vikings went to 3 Wide, 1 TE, 1 HB. The Steeler went 3-3-5. Mike Mitchell was the 1st DB covering the 3rd Wide -- Cordarrelle Patterson. The rationale for allowing any DB to play against the FL and SE is because the offense could elect to have his best WR be the "third wide" thereby always having a best v. worst matchup. I think this is a good "house rule." What do you believe the problem to be?

I agree with our current rule. If a team can put their best receiver in the slot (3rd WR) the defense should have the opportunity to match-up best vs best.

The problem is now the FS essentially becomes a CB and when rated higher than the other CB’s the smart move is to put him on the best WR. I believe a FS is rated on his ability to cover zones -LP, Flats, Look-in, and coverage on HB’s, FB’s, BB’s and 2nd TE’s. He is not rated to line up against a Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, or any of the NFL’s top receiver’s. If data is available to disprove this please share it. How long would an NFL Defensive coordinator last if he regularly had a Harrison Smith or Earl Thomas lined up covering a team’s #1 WR? Not very long. A good “house rule” would be to lower his rating when covering any WR. Again, this is s Strat rule - if a bad one exists (that’s not optional) please share it with me. What are current rule does to prevent the offense from putting anyone in the slot is give more options to the defensive, options they shouldn’t have. Perhaps, our WR’s should be rated WR1, WR2, etc based on their card. Then their would be no need for this rule. And if a team doesn’t have enough quality WR’s or CB’s then you have a position where you are weak- just like in the NFL!

If I had more time I would start a computer league, but I don’t. I believe Ben Roethlisberger myself and those dice have a connection. Unfortunately, sometimes that connection results in 6 interception in a game. So my only choice is to go the Father Pleger route - to bring attention to the lack of realism in our league I will be protesting by shutting down Rosemont Dr. on Wednesday evening. This league has come a long way, but there is still work to be done!

I agree with Brian that safeties are not being rated on their ability in man coverage, but in zone coverage and on "lesser" receivers (HB, FB, etc) for lack of a better term. I like the idea of having our WRs rated WR1, WR2, etc to help solve this issue.
