Do you realize that Strat rules allow the FS to be named as DB1 and cover a WR with no rating reduction?

Yes we do. A FS playing as DB1 can only cover WR #3. A DB1 can not cover the FL who is ALWAYS covered by the LCB or the SE who is ALWAYS covered by the RCB. Reducing his rating when covering a WR3 in my opinion would be an excellent house rule. If I remember correctly, didn’t Buddy Ryan stick with his base defense against Marino and the Dolphins in 85’? Nat Moore was covered by Gary Fencik. At least Fencik tried to cover him. Ditka wanted a nickel back on Moore who was wide open the first half. The Dolphins ran a 3WR set and the Bears couldn’t stop it.

Fencik wes a 4. I doubt Ditka would want to take Marshall, Otis, or Singletary off the field for another 4 DB. (Presuming Ditka knew the Strat ratings ) #HouseRulesMatterwhenitisconvenient?

Matter of convenience:
If we played with the overusage rule Mike Gillislee (14 carries) and Aaron Rodgers (2 end runs) would be fatigued after 16 combines carries. Instead, the Jets have the most potent rushing game in the league. How convenient. With overusage rule in place perhaps LeSean McCoy would be able to carry the Rams on his shoulders to the Super Bowl

Where were these arguments when Jim Sorgi was leading his team to the Superbowl?

I remember only 2 yrs ago a team trading a 1st and a 2nd for a QB that only played 8 games the prior season. # Limitedusagewhenconvenient

#Limitedusagewhenconvenient
I think the argument has always been there to some degree, the problem/question is what to do about it? We've half assed talked about it forever and all we could come up with is low carry halfbacks (under 50 carries) are always right on a third die 1. #NotWorkingAtAll.
You could use the strat fatigue rule and the onus would be on the opposing coach to track the usage of the player with limitations. How hard can this possibly be, even if you dont keep stats. It's a tally sheet at the most for god's sake. Many guys keep game stats and/or track opponents stats already so this really should be an easy "fix" for runners and QB end runs.

#ChangeWeCanBelieveIn
Previous rule changes: Keying a player - remember the days of simply saying “run key HB”, without having to move a LB or FS into a run zone?
FS Blitz - automatic sack! Ouch
And my favorite rule - Offensive Time-outs after the Defensive puts itself in a great position to stop your next play.

Every time I think about those rules it literally makes me cringe.

And 2 of those rules used to be official Strat rules.
