Preamble
The purpose of the regular season is to determine the playoff teams. I do not believe it is feasible to complete our regular season due to the pandemic. Any attempt to play more regular season games will likely end with an incomplete regular season. Rather than making a futile attempt, I propose the following:
Proposal
Each team shall declare whether they are a playoff team or a non-playoff team regardless of the team’s shortened-regular season record and the current standings.
All non-playoff teams shall be in the player draft lottery and the defensive team draft lottery. No playoff teams shall participate in either draft lottery.
Playoff Seeding. The playoff teams shall be seeded based upon conference records without regard to divisional standings. No team shall receive a “Bye” unless there are uneven teams. The playoffs will be a tournament style bracket without reseeding (1 v 10, 2 v 9, etc.).
Injuries. Any players that were injured during the regular season shall be available for the playoffs--even season ending injuries. Exception: any player acquired during the OFM Season that was already injured for the OFM Season shall not be available because the acquiring team never had an expectation of utilizing the player.
For 2020-21 draft purposes, the losers for each tournament round shall be in the same draft “bucket” for draft pick order purposes.
I hope the playoffs can begin in June and the Super Bowl can still be played in July. We can make the schedule now and the teams can plan to play as soon as it practicable.
The goal of this proposal is two-fold: (1) provide a playoff opportunity for those teams that have acquired talent at the trade deadline and/or have had the “weak” part of their schedule wiped out by the pandemic; and (2) allow the 2020-21 draft and season begin in a timely manner.
I think that we should all purchase the computer game for next season. There is slight additional cost but it will provide us the opportunity to play the season regardless.

No to proposal.
Yes people should buy the computer game. You buy the computer game and your cards are just a few bucks extra.

Here are my thoughts on the proposal..
I do believe that trying to finish the regular season is not a realistic goal. There are many factors as to why this is the case but it is what it is. I think that we should strongly consider ending the season as is and move to begin the playoffs when it's practical. With that being said,If we were to end the season at this moment, there are 6 teams in each conference that are in the playoffs based on our normal playoff system without having to use tie breakers. So far, the teams that stated they would like to participate in the playoffs would all be in either way. The playoff teams would be:
AFC 1. Bears 2. Jets 3. Titans 4. Oilers 5. Packers 6. Rams
NFC 1. Chargers 2. Ravens 3. Cowboys 4. Raiders 5. Broncos 6. Lions
I vote yes to ending the regular season and starting the playoffs ASAP(whenever that might be)but I think using our normal playoff system is the best way to do that.
If we decide to go with this proposal the Raiders will participate in the playoffs and the Texans will participate in the draft lottery.
One last thought..I also believe that if everyone owned the computer game it would give our league flexibility in situations like this.

So just to be clear, Titans would get in by virtue of playing one less game than the rest of his divison using Pat's suggestion? I'm just curious who would get in if the Titans had played their 10th game and were 5-5?
Pat-Is your vote a full vote for Rich's proposal or is it like a half vote subject to your suggested playoff method/seedings? In one proposal Jags/Pats are in if I choose to participate and in another proposal i'm out by virtue of playing my games on time prior to the break?
Now that Rich has spoken, I guess nobody really wanted to try playing via Zoom, Facetime or Skype? When does the league make decisions on behalf of teams who don't reply to Rich's proposal? How will that decision be made? Another vote? Are these speculative June playoffs going to be played face to face? What if I decide I want in but corona-mania is extended and people decide they can't/don't want to play? Can we change our minds to then get back in the lottery or vice versa?
On a side note-We've not heard a word from the "Yes" voters about purchasing the computer game for next year when/if the next pandemic occurs? Why not consider purcahsing the PC game this year to finish out the season? You can even use that to simulate games for teams that don't care to play any more games this season or ever?

If the Titans had played, and lost week 10, they still would be in based on their divisional record(2-1).

In regards to purchasing the game.
I have never played a computer football game. So, thusly, I have not played an online computer football game.
Until I have played a computer football game, I will not be purchasing one.

Ryan with the Saints votes Yes to the proposal. The Saints will not be participating in the playoffs.
Peter with the Vikings votes Yes to the proposal. The Vikings are as of yet not decided on the post season (but are leaning toward likely as participants with phone games).

I think this is a fair proposal. It has been important to me that teams who traded to improve their team have that opportunity to make it worth while. This proposal gives that opportunity. It also factors strength of schedule balance as there were still enough games to be played. These ridiculous times we're in are testing society so while I'd live to still play out like everyone else it's just not practical and I like this idea. Id be open to trying facetime/skype/zoom games for fun if I can fit them in. I am open to purchasing the computer game for first time ever for coming season.
I vote Yes
Panthers are definitely not making the playoffs.
I'd like to think about Steelers given their conf, the records in that conf and will look at remainder of schedule. Previously I considered having a shot at 6th seed after a horrendous start.

I am in Flavor of the proposal from rich. But I dont have answers to the questions yet. Is everyone on board with playing the computer game? I understand it gives the user a simulation of the game and there team against another one and the outcome is determined more then likely what team is the best. I don't completely agree with that because it takes away the coach factor . what if I want to go for it on forth down even though the chances are not in my favor. The reason why we all play is to couch our way not the computer way. I need more information. To make a better decision.
As for skype, zoom, FaceTime, etc...I would no problem talking about who is willing to do it or who can and I am sure someone will give me a in depth paragraph of how.. but the league was designed for face to face not over a live stream.

When you coach your team in the computer game, you make all decisions. Your opponent makes all of his decisions if you're playing a live opponent. There's also an option for you to play against a computer coach as well.
