Gentleman,
There has been some talk recently about Rich Linblom either returning this for the balance of this season or possibly next season and taking the Vikings over. I think one of the potential issues at hand is prior to Brian Holmberg quitting early this season is the team has traded away many future draft picks. Based on my conversations with him, I believe the only way he returns is if we provide a full set of draft picks for the team. While I know this may rub some people the wrong way, I believe agreeing to do this is in the best long term interest of the league. Let's face the facts, we have two teams sitting out there with no real potential owners in sight and none of the existing owners lose anything if we agree to this. At this point I don't think we should factor in the always burning question of who got what or didn't get when they came into the league. That's all in the past and those who didn't get for the most part have well established teams now. Rich was a long time member of the league and more importantly, while in the league was a very dependable and active owner.
I would like to propose that for the 2019, 2020 and 2021 drafts, The Vikings are given a full set of draft choices. As for where those picks are placed, based on the Viking roster and past history, i'd say they are non-lottery picks, maybe kust place in the middle of the non-lottery teams. Furthermore any draft choices the Vikings may have acquired prior to this would be eliminated from the equation for the 2019, 2020 and 2021 drafts.
Lastly, For what it's worth, I would say that whoever takes over the Giants be given this same opportunity.
Thoughts and discussion please? The iron is hot so lets try and make a quick decision on this matter.

I agree. Give whomever a full set of picks.

I believe it is too late for the Vikings this year as their 3rd game has been lost. I am fine with giving Rich the picks back, but we should not penalize the teams that traded with the Vikings and received draft picks from them. Also, the Bucs and the Saints should be given the same opportunity.

I agree to give him the picks. Teams who are in possession of "Vikings" picks should retain those obviously because they gave up something to get them in return.
I am all on board to have more active and dependable people in the league.
I also believe we should allow him to manage the Vikings roster this year even if the games are not being played. This would mean trading with any potential suitors he sees fit since it will be his team in the near future.

We're not penalizing those teams, we're just not letting the Vikings keep any picks that they may have acquired through trade if we're going to make them whole. If you have an old Vikings pick, it's still yours to do with whatever you see fit.
I'm OK with the Bucs and Saints getting the same deal.

Pete / Ryan Komendowski considering taking an additional team next year. Also Tony may be a posibility. Dominick Rodgers Cromarty, Max Unger, and Taylor Gabriel were obtained by the Vikings for the 2019 and 2020 first round picks that the Vikings are missing. The Vikings are also missing a 2019 5th and have no extras. The Giants are not missing any picks and don’t have any extra picks. If the Vikings are to receive a full allotment of picks, shouldn’t Cromarty, Unger, and Gabriel be removed from the Vikings and put into the 2019 draft?

Thats's an interesting theory, but I don't see any reason to muddy the waters. DRC is 32, retired, 1 start this past season and likely won't even get a card. Unger is a vaible player, but he'll be 33 when next season starts. Gabriel is 27 and a mid level journeyman receiver. I don't see any long term advanatge to letting these guys stay in place.
I say let it be.

I think whoever gets the Vikings should gat them as they are, without replacing the missing picks. It would be unfair to recently new coaches who got their teams without compensation for missing picks to allow the league to be held hostage to demands. It creates bad feelings throughout the league that can last for many years. Just ask Bob Watson.

Not sure what happened with Bob and for that matter don't really care. Before my time which means it was nearly 20 years ago. When I came into the league, Bob Watson had teams frozen for two years that nobody could take if they wanted to which i'll never fully understand. That being said, whatever happened with Bob Watson years ago doesn't matter here. We have a window to bring back a very dependable owner which we despeartely need, so if we have to make a couple concessions, it's worth it in my opinion. Right now there's no guarantee that The Komodowski's are willing to take a 2nd team and obviusly Anthony has bavkburnered the Giants at least for now. Hell If he doesn't take the Giants, nobody will atke that team as is. We've been saying that for the past two seasons. It's better to get things in place sooner than later.
As far as fairness to new coaches, give them what they were missing as well then. The Saints were basically whole as they were jut put together a year ago. Ryan and Anthony drafted scratch teams so that really only leaves Alex. As for anybody else, they've now been around long enough where it shouldn't matter.
Think about it, we're taking about 3 total draft picks over the next 3 drafts. We're hardly considering giving the house away.

So are you worried he will back out if we take 3 unspectacular players back in place of the draft picks the Vikings spent to get them. The Vikings as is is in the top half of the league. They would likely have made the playoffs this year.
Bob would only return to the league under similar circumstances after depleting his former teams of draft picks.
If you want to hand out draft picks to others you figure out who gets what. Make a proposal and we’ll all vote on it.
And don’t forget the Giants.

Or... if we have 2 potential owners, they can draft from the pool of players that are the Vikings and Giants.

I'm not worried about anything. If putting those three players back in the draft pool gets it done, i'm good there too. As for the Bob Watson situation, if it was Rich who depleted the team and then said "i'll come back if" I wouldn't vote to give him anything. In this case, Rich had nothing to do with anything the Vikings did so it's kind of a moot point.
As far as a dispersal of the Giants and Vikings, I'm good with that too. It worked when we did it last time. As far as I'm concerened, you could add Alex and the Buccaneers to that pool. If you tell me tommorow that Ryan K will take a team, Anthony will take a team, then let the dispersal begin. If Alex wants in that pool, all in. Hell, put the Giants, Buccaneers and Vikings all in the big draft and draft 3 expansion teams instead if they'd like that. Do it with just 2 owners. To me those options would be the most interesting of all.
No matter what the format is, What I really want is relaible active owners who can play face to face games. Anthony and Rich L are proven commodities. Ryan K is local and seems to have good interest right off the bat, so I think he's a decent choice as well.
So now that all that has been said, here's what really needs to occur. We, the league, need to decide what we believe the bets format will be in conjunction with what the potentail players would be willing to do. I'd bet Rich L would love an expansion draft or even a dispersal draft as well. We need to hear from Anthony if he wants to take a 2nd team for starters and Ryan K if he want's a team seperate from he and his father.
Addendum to the above-If Pete K also wanted to participate in an expansion or dispersal draft for the Saints as well, I'd include him too. He inherited a team, albeit a newer team, but he should be able to participate and build his own empire too.

I see absolutely no reason why draft compensation should be given to the Vikings. Brian H spent the draft capital on assets. Assets the Vikings still own. It is November and I really don’t think we need to be looking to bend over for someone contemplating taking the much better team. We are 10 months away from needing an owner of the Vikings...

I officially offer to take the Giants over beginning the next season. As-is. No compensation or picks requested. Leaving the Vikings as the remaining question mark. League approval?
