I propose that safties no longer be interchangeable.
Strong Safety must play Strong Safety and Free Safety must play Free Safety. If they are forced to play out of position due to injury, they are considered to be a 0-0 just like any other position player whom plays out of position per OFM rules.
The interchangeability has made the position far too strong. 5 and 6 run rated Strong Safeties who conveniently move to Free Safety and then wander all over the field at will is just too powerful. Their SOM run ratings were designed to work in conjunction with the flat pass containment rules not turn them into Butkus, Lambert, Ray Lewis etc.
Please don't arbitrarily vote "No" because we allow ORT to play OLT etc. It's not the same argument as they are still limited to being on the OL. It's the same with D-Lineman, Cornerbacks etc.
Please vote accordingly.
Thanks,

I will admit to a slight peevishness on this topic, after being the only one to argue against changing the rule on safety interchangeability and trading away 3 or 4 safeties within a month after the rule change.
I will work past this and give a considered vote in the future.
