Saints 30
Ravens 24
Overtime
This was a crazy game. Saints had 14-10 lead in the 3rd quarter and were driving in Raven territory when G.Benard fumbled on a 2-3 fumble chance. The Ravens fumbled the return of the fumble but were able to keep possession. Soon afterward, Mike Evans hauled in a 39-yd TD from AJ McCarron and the Ravens were ahead 17-14. After the Saints went 3 and out, Mike Evans caught another TD pass to make it 24-14 Ravens. On the next Saint series, T.Bridgewater threw an interception in double coverage and the Ravens had the ball deep in Saints territory. Things looked dire for the Saints and John left the stadium to mow his grass.
Fortunately for the Saints, AJ McCarron threw a 2-4 interception in the end zone and the Saints were still alive. The Saints drove down the field, stalled at the Raven 34 yard line and made a 2-6, 11 & 12 field goal to get within a touchdown. With less than 5 minutes left in the game and facing a 4th and goal at the Raven 11, T.Bridgewater was sacked to end the drive. The Saint defense held and got the ball back with just over 2 minutes left in regulation. The Saints moved the ball down the field and got to the Raven 1-yd line on a 10-yd pass completion with 15 seconds left. On the last play of regulation, G.Benard was able to push the pile into the end zone to tie the game.
The Saints won the coin flip and were able to drive down the field with the help of a 3rd down miracle 27-yd long pass on Bridgewater's card "2" and a 20-yd YAC reception by G.Benard that brought it down to the Raven's 1-yd line again. This time T.Bridgewater ran it in to win it for the Saints.
What a game! The star of the game for the Ravens was Mike Evans, who caught 3 TD passes.
Next up for the emotionally drained Saints--the Redskins.
