If a coach has more than one team, that coach may not acquire or trade for a player, defensive cards, or draft pick that was on another of his teams during the current season. Additionally that coach may not acquire or trade for any draft pick that is an original draft pick of his other team of any year until such time as that draft pick’s position in the draft is determined. The “current season” for the purpose of this rule is … from the time a team becomes eligible to trade (usually sometime in June or July, when that team’s season and postseason, if any, is complete) until the trade deadline, currently March 7th or the start of game 10.

I think maybe we should simplify this so it's very clear.
1) Under draft rules;
Owners with two teams are not allowed to own/control the draft choices of their other team. As an example;
Owner X is the owner of the Patriots and the Jaguars. Under no circumstances can the Patriots own draft choices of the Jaguars and vice versa.
2) Under roster rules;
Owners with two teams are not allowed to own/control the players of their other team within the current season. As an example;
Owner X is the owner of the Patriots and Jaguars. The Patriots own Tom Brady. Tom Brady is not allowed to play for the Jaguars in the current season under any circumstances. Tom Brady can play for the Jaguars in future seasons but only if obtained through a third party trade or being obtained in the draft.
The player roster rule can be subject to review by the rest of the league if the owners involved in a trade appear to be conspiring to create collusion. A league vote would be determined to approve or rescind the trade. The owners involved in the trade would not be part of the voting process.
Defensive cards no longer need to be addressed as we all have the same cards.
On a side note-I think it's good to have a rule in place just in case. I think we've eliminated all the shit heads who might try the shenanigans listed above so hopefully it's really a moot point. I also believe we could remove the "must play to win" rule as it was put in to eliminate the same shit heads just linebacking their QB forty times in a game just to get a game played and tank for a potential lottery draft choice. If this type of play were to occur for some reason, a warning should be issued that if it happens again in the future, penalties could be incurred such as loss of draft choices, roster spots or both.
Pretty clear and simple (I think). Just my two cents worth to clean/clear it up.

I agree.
However the defense card provision doesn’t hurt anything and would be in place in the unlikely event we return to its use.
The one person objecting to a trade triggering a vote is kind of an all-encompassing rule that covers the unusual and has worked relatively well over the years as well as yesterday.
Also I don’t see a problem with trading draft picks once the draft order is determined. At that point it becomes a static commodity and sometimes is the only pick of the right value to complete a trade.

I'm good with any of this as long as it's very clearly stated in the new version. I'm pretty sure most people forgot or didn't even know (Including myself) that this was even in place since it hasn't come up in 20 years.

I'm ok with all this and she with John's provisions (not sure if it needs to be written up all together still but ok with what I've read)

I like John's idea that once the picks are set in stone they can be moved. That being said, I am good with either proposal.
