In the NFL, field goals are kicked from 8 yards behind the line of scrimmage while OFM currently uses 7 yards. This only comes into play with missed field goals and will not impact your kicker's range. You can verify by checking the play-by-play for any game.

We are working toward making the computer game rules and the board game rules the same. Wherever a missed FG is spotted in the computer game is where we should spot the ball in the board game.
