Is a backup defensive tackle listed on an NFL 3-4 defense considered a nose tackle (NT) instead of a defensive tackle (DT)?

I believe all backups, whether they are for a 3-4 or 4-3, are considered "tackles" - meaning they can play either NT or DT and do not have a rating reduction. I am not 100% certain on this.
Can anyone else confirm?

If you are a NT you can play NT at your rating; if you play DT you lose a run rating point.
If you are a DT you can play DT at your rating; if you play NT you lose a run rating point.
If you are a T (DT) in our world, you play DT at your rating; if you play NT you lose a run rating point. This applies even if you are a backup T (DT) on a 3-4 team.
