We should randomize team picks ... Or a fight to the death for 85 bears :-)

I will take a better 2nd round pick and leave the Bears to the others...

I did some research on Football Reference and used the criteria of average margin of victory +/- strength of schedule and came up with the following list. 2019 Baltimore would be in the league based on this. Best Teams of All-Time.xlsx (12.34 KB)

I'm good with mixing in teams from 2000-2009. I'll do a little reseach later

It looks like there will be 5 teams in each conference.
Here is a proposal for how we could play the season: 1) We could play a 16 game schedule (3 games vs. 4 other teams in your conference=12; 1 game vs. 4 teams in other conference=4 (you would not play your other team)). 2) 5 teams make the playoffs (#4 seed would host #5 seed in a play-in game). #1 seed (best conference winning record) would host the winner of #4 vs. #5 play-in game and #2 seed would host #3 seed). For something different, we could try best of 3 series instead of a single game in the #1 vs #4/#5 and #2 vs #3 round and a best of 3 or 5 for the Super Bowl. 3) We could draft franchises and then the coaches who select each franchise would tell the rest of the league what season they want to coach for the two franchises they select. 4) Each coach should know they would have to purchase each season individually. SOM does not offer a best teams set.

Save bets for franchises selected would be:
NFC Packers Bears 49ers
AFC Patriots Dolphins Steelers Raiders
Maybes?
NFC Cowboys Rams Redskins Giants Vikings Saints Eagles
AFC Ravens (2019? without YAC and multi Def Ratings) Broncos Chiefs Chargers Colts (also could be NFC in Unitas years) Oilers Jets Bills

I like the idea of drafting franchises, sounds fun and adds a little personal flair

The one thing to keep in mind is everyone is going to have to own every season that we decide to use. Looking at the potential list of teams ,I would have to purchase 10-15 seasons at roughly $25 per season.

That's why I am OK with 10 teams as the max. We could also wait until SOM offers a discount for seasons.

Hi this is Peter I know I said I would play in this league but after playing my first computer game I found it really unfulfilling compared to playing face-to-face I'm not a computer game guy I'll do it to play out the season but I wouldn't consider it fun for me so for that extra league I've got to be out sorry about that but I guess that's what playing the game teaches you.

No Problem. This idea is no longer viable.

No harm in leaving it out there. Somebody else may jump in or we can keep an eye open for a non OFM player.
