We need thought out options on the table. No sense in voting when we’re not entirely sure what our alternatives are.

Agree.
We need to know all the options not just vote on a thought.
Maybe we can here actual opinions from Ryan K himself and maybe Alex can login through a smart phone since he doesn't have a working computer. Dave has yet to chime in on any of this. We might just find out that people who don't seem to have the time to play games in person, pandemic or not, may like the computer option at this point and even possible going forward.

Yes, we should specify what we are voting on.
All in favor of option 1, all in favor of option 2, etc.
The vote must be exclusionary, if you vote yes to option 1, all other options are a no vote by you.

Thinking out loud here ...
A thought to keep some of the personal aspect (be on the phone) but use a web app to submit play calls then automatically roll dice. I reached out to my son's friend who is a decent programmer to see how easy this is.
We could still be on the phone and maybe even run web app on mobile browser and use a board and pieces on each end.
Player1 clicks offense and chooses offensive play by clicking buttons in 3 categories run or pass, which zone on the field the play goes, who runs or catches on the play. Submit.
Player2 clicks defense and guesses clicking buttons for run or pass (option to say pass with double teaming up to 3 receivers, just extra buttons) but cannot see what offense submitted until defense clicks submit.
After both submit then both simultaneously see the others play call and offense clicks a Roll Dice button which both ends see result of.
We can still be on the phone talking while all this happens. We check the outcome manually on our football cards based on whether defense guessed right or wrong and outcome of dice roll then we can move football on field (each person has a board game).
An extremely watered down version of pc game but doing just enough to get over the trust factor of confidential play calls while keeping the game fully social and as old school as possible.
Just a thought

Hi Pete,
I'm not sure why we would go to this trouble as it basically sounds like a beta version of the computer game. The computer game has a chat function built in to be used as anybody sees fit during gameplay. Of course if you prefer to hear somebody's voice or see their face then any of the various afforementioned methods for seeing or hearing somebody can be used in conjunction with the game.
On a side note, A couple additional advantages of the agme is that there are no rule interpreations needed as the game applies all rules you choose to use. There are also no misreads of the cards as well. Can't happen. The game also provides an automatic save function so you never lose your place in the game even if you choose to stop playing and pick it up later. I'll jump in here as Rich has, if you purchasee the game and don't like it, I'll buy it back from you.
Again to be clear to anybody contemplating this option. This is not mean't to replace face to face play in the long run, but mean't as an alternative to move play forward this season.
