The #2 seeded Redskins traveled into Bronco country (both literally and fictionally) to take on John's #1 seeded team, which ended up being another OFM classic.
The Broncos jumped out to a 3-0 lead until the Redskins responded with a field goal to make the score 3-3.
The 2nd quarter was then dominated by the Broncos and they went into halftime with a 13-3 lead.
The Redskins received the 2nd half kickoff and came out clicking to tie the score at 13-13. Tom Brady then launched a 53 yard bomb for a touchdown, but the Broncos kicker missed the XP. 19-13 Broncos after 3 quarters.
The 4th quarter was a grind with at least 3 punts by both teams. The Redskins got the ball back down 6 points with 3:45 to go. The drove down to the Bronco 17, and with 1:30 to go found AJ Green on the "sniper scope" long gain thanks to a Broncos FS Blitz. The converted the extra point and led 20-19. The kickoff was returned out to the 27, meaning the Broncos needed 33 yards of turf to get into field goal range. On the first play, the Redskins correctly double teamed Donte Moncrief to force an incompletion. On 2nd down, thankfully the Redskins correctly double teamed Hunter Henry to dodge the Long Gain, right or wrong, roll on #8 on Brady's card; but it was irrelevant as a false start negated the play. On the next play, John rolled another #8 on Brady's card to get a long gain...the long gain resulted in 39 yards putting the Broncos in field goal range down 1!!! Luckily for the Redskins, Blair Walsh was only 2-3 from that range. The Broncos missed the kick and the Redskins stormed the field in glee.
Final: Redskins 20 Broncos 19
John coached a great game and had another great season. It was an extremely stressful, but even more fun game to be apart of. Hats of to John and his team.
The Redskins look forward to avenging their Super Bowl loss from their inaugural season. Bring on the competition!
