Would anybody be interested in playing in an online retro SOM babseball league? While I haven't worked out all the particulars, I was thinking something to this effect;
12 owners, 24 Teams, Each owner takes 2 teams, one AL and one NL. 40 man rosters with 24 active players Keeper league Super advanced/max rules Starting year-TBD
If this is of ineterst or you know anybody to make up the initail 12, let's chat about it.

I have interest, but not a lot of time. 2 teams would be tough. Online would be the only way and I have never done online. I would suggest post war starting point (1946). 12 teams might be more realistic.

You're the first to show any interest, so i'll let you know how it goes. This would be netplay only for the time and convenience of all.

I put the following advertisement on the forum of the baseball league I am part of........
A person in the Football League I participate in threw out an idea that I thought was interesting related to a different type of Baseball League. It would be a Retro Keeper League that would start in the past and move forward in 2 to 3 year increments. It would be Netplay only/not face to face and would follow the same rules that our league currently has.
The year the league would start would be 1948, followed by 1951, 1953, 1955, 1958, 1961, 1963, 1966, 1969, 1971, 1973, and so forth. What do these seasons have in common? They are all Super-Advanced Strat-O-Matic seasons that include pitcher hold ratings, pitcher fielding ratings and "5" rated defensive players.
The initial draft would be with the 1948 computer season. All players available on the 1948 computer game could be drafted. Is Ted Williams the first pick? Stan Musial? When does Jackie Robinson get picked? How about Nellie Fox, who only had 13 AB's in 1948, or Al Rosen, who had 5 AB's. The advantage to this type of league is you know how things turned out.
Again, similar to our current league, I would envision 12 teams, 2 divisions, 6 playoff teams, 40-man rosters, 32 players that can play, 25 active players in a series.
The 6 teams that don't make the playoffs in 1948 would be eligible for the first 6 picks in the 1951 season draft where a rookie named Willie Mays would be available.
Another thought; at some point, we might consider going backward. Again the 1948 season draft would be the starting point.
Let me know if you have any interest in this concept. It would certainly take a back seat to our current league and would only be played online.

Nice.
Let's see if it draws any interest. I was hoping Pat would jump in on a baseball idea as I think he'd be perfect for handling the computer files that go along with online baseball leagues and I'm pretty sure he already owns the game. He's MIA right now, but let's see if anybody shows any interest in any type of league.

How about Rich? He played baseball before football. I thought a baseball game he could play in the comfort of his own home would work. Is Ryan a baseball fan?

If people are interested, they've not indicated as such. Ryan is a mild baseball fan, played some basic SOM baseball, but i'm sure could may be interested if it becomes more of a certaintly.
